About the Station

Play Misty Radio is brought to you by the creators of Bohemio Radio. Erik Wilhelm Sturm and Heidi Sturm started Bohemio Radio in 2007, and reached a listener-ship of over 600,000 worldwide, giving independent artists from around the world the exposure they deserved while bringing an original stream of eclectic and avant  garde sounds to our listeners. This family owned stream has been resurrected, for your listening enjoyment, as Play Misty Radio.

The theme to this radio show was inspired by a 1971 American psychological thriller film starring Clint Eastwood as the actor and director. Eastwood plays David "Dave" Garver, a KRML radio disc jockey who offers nightly broadcasts from his studio in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. The character hosts a really cool radio show with some of the jazz greats, along with poetry read on the air.

As Play Misty Radio, we will continue to reach out to the bohemians of the world and showcase their wonderful works here on the station. In the past we relied on donations to keep the station on the air to avoid corporate sponsorship. Despite the financial difficulties, we will no longer ask for donations and have since changed our business model. We hope to continue to bring you original music for the curious soul . . .
